Artifact from PROV 501: plagiarism paper

This artifact is a research paper on plagiarism as defined in Western culture. I used five sources to find what is plagiarism and how to avoid plagiarism for international students. To write this paper, I learned to find related articles in the library and online database. Finding sources is a very important skill for graduate students. Because when they do research in the future, they also need to find and read other scholars’ work. In addition, writing this paper help me understand the structure of a research paper. So I know how to organize my paper in order to make it formal. After writing this paper, I become more familiar with western education. Especially, I know I need to avoid plagiarism when I write my own paper.

Project for ECE528: Introduction to Random Processes :MATLAB project

The goal of this project is ：given the distribution of random variable X, I need to find a function g(x) such that the distribution of the random variable y = g(x) equals a specified function F(y). For example, in problem 1 I wanted to get a random variable with Rayleigh distribution. Firstly, I used matlab to generatea the input U with uniform distribution. Then I calculated the inverse fuction of Rayleigh distribution and used u as input. Finally, I got the output with Rayleigh distribution. Doing this project, one must know how to use matlab which is the most important tool for signal process. In addition, one must understand the concept of random process and be able to use it to solve certain problems.

Writing from PROV 506 Language analysis:

This artifact is a paper on analysing the language pattern in my major. In this writing, I chose an article from a famous journal named IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control in my major. Then I discussed the tense and citation in each paragraph of this article. In addition, I analyzed the language features and special terms. I found it is important to use IEEE citation and other important features. This work shows I fully understand how to write a professional article in my field.
